KinoVan

Historic film of Bexley by London's Screen Archive

Join us for a special KinoVan (our cinema in a van) screening event. We will take you on a tour of the borough on film across the last century as a selection of archive clips offer an insight into how the borough of Bexley has changed.

Hear about your borough’s film history from film archivist Louise Pankhurst.

Find out how you can get involved by submitting your own films to London: A Bigger Picture.

London: A Bigger Picture – Collecting Home Movies, Screening Heritage Film, Opening the Archives, Involving the Community.

Managed by Film London, London’s Screen Archives are a unique network of historic film collections working together on a common mission. Through our network we hold London’s rich film heritage, from feature films to the tiniest scrap of home movie, with particular strengths in public information films, newsreels, films from industry and business or amateur productions. Individually, these tell personal stories, of how life has been lived: collectively, they tell bigger stories of changing neighbourhoods, patterns of work, travel, commerce, leisure and governance.

The KinoVan will be located outside, by the Hall Place visitor centre from 1pm – 4pm (even if the weather is poor).

Open Air Theatre: Pride & Prejudice

pride and prejudice

It is a truth universally acknowledged that Jane Austen’s witty and romantic masterpiece is one of the best-loved stories of all time, dealing with the most important questions in life… Will Mrs Bennett manage to offload her numerous daughters in record time? Will Lizzy and Darcy actually get together? Will creepy Mr Collins just go away please?

The literary classic gets the full Pantaloons treatment in this beautifully hilarious and delightfully innovative new adaptation.

Bring a rug or chair to sit on. Picnics welcome.

7pm (gates open at 6pm).
