Red House National Trust

William Morris’ Arts and Crafts house in Bexleyheath, very close to Danson House.

Eltham Palace

English Heritage: Henry VIII’s palace with the Courtaulds’ sumptuous house added in the last century.

Crossness Steam Engines

The Beam Engine House is a Grade 1 Listed Industrial Building constructed in the Romanesque style and features some of the most spectacular ornamental Victorian cast ironwork to be found today. It also contains the four original pumping engines which are possibly the largest remaining rotative beam engines in the world, with 52 ton flywheels and 47 ton beams.

Lesnes Abbey

Lesnes Abbey is a hidden treasure in the heart of suburban London. The site contains the remain of Lesnes Abbey founded by Richard de Luci in 1178. This has been a very important site throughout history and was even visited by Edward I. Lesnes Abbey Wood is full of a diversity of wildlife habitats, plants and flowers.

The World Garden at Lullingstone

Tom Hart Dyke’s amazing World Garden, grouping all the native plants into their continents in the walled garden of his family’s home at Lullingstone Castle. Tom has welcomed some of our Hall Place plants into the World Garden.
