Tuesday 15th July

Join us for a lecture in the historic house, followed by a two-course hot lunch in the Danson tearoom.  Afterwards, enjoy a chance to explore the house with a guided tour and indulge in the gift shop.

Sir Joseph Scott, a Baronet, Midland land-owner and spend-thrift, has worked his way through a very considerable fortune in the pursuit of pleasure; high fashion, the excitement of the table and the solace of the bottle are the key features of his life!

For this lecture Sir Joseph visits Danson with a considerable range of items illustrative of the period and his station in life.  Card games, such as whist and loo, will be explained and demonstrated and the Baronet will discuss the nature of society in Regency times, the excesses of the Prince Regent, the illness of the King, the war with France and many other topical issues.

£19.50 per person.  There will be a limited number of tickets for the lecture only at £12 per person.

Choice of lunch must be selected at the time of booking.
